The first time I heard about them was last August when they had the good initiative to fix Elliott Smith’s memorial wall on Sunset. And on December 29th and 30th, music-art-activist collective FMLY is organizing a big fest to celebrate the end of the year with the best new and upcoming LA bands. There are so many bands in the lineup! Ok, there are tons I have never heard about (as the whole idea is about discovering new bands), but Pangea and Fidlar are on the 29th, at 12 pm and it’s gonna be cool I would guarantee it.

Regina Spektor At United Palace Theater, Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 Reviewed
The set was so well paced but it was hard not to be. Regina has so many great songs but is really a schticky chick: she pulls out the Music Hall “Sailor Song” and is as willing to go deep into her Russian roots and pull out a gypsy folkie refrain as an glammy popness or a classical U Turn.
