Les Miserables isn't a good movie because of the acting, singing or score. Anne Hathaway is excellent, as is Hugh Jackson, but except for Samantha Barks nobody else ruled. Certainly not for Tom "The King's Speech" Hooper direction which seems to have zero sense of movie musicals, everything in tight close up of folks singing their lungs out. No, it is a good movie because it is based up Victor Hugo's great "Les Miserables". To my shame I have only just begun reading it for the first time and this brilliant historical novel about the 1832 June Rebellion where the Republicans were crushed by the Monarchists, is already up there with Tolstoy's "War And Peace". "Les Miz" was published in 1862 (30 years after the Rebellion), "War And Peace" in 1869. Literature isn't this great any more, it's not like music (though the weakness of the modern pop album is due to a similar cause), we lost the time for it, we have too many distractions and because we don't have the readers we lost the writers.

Despite all this darkness and bleakness, the trio was very jovial, Elena Tonra was giggling all the time, and she thanked many times the crowd for ‘being so nice’. They have just released their first LP ‘If You Leave’, were signing copies after the show, and all these people in line had certainly perceived the emotional and painful beauty of Daughter’s songs

I Downloaded The New The National Off ITunes…
I am not a huge National fan, if I were I would have bought it on Tuesday when it was released, the same way I did with Vampire Weekend. Tuesday is new music day and there is so much on Spotify I won’t usually buy much off Itunes

I will have conducted my interview with Chanel West Coast by the time you read this, but as of now, I just have the videos of these two songs. She raps pretty I’ve seen a video of Chanel straight up rapping over beats and she was excellent. On the other hand, the last two tracks are songs my Mom, who died in 2010, used to sing to me . Florrie Ford is British Dancehall, I don’t know whpo the other guy is.
