I think that it is valid to criticize Adele’s music. I am personally not much of a fan. However, this article is extremely misogynistic. It’s fine to criticize Adele, but not fine to write a blanket criticism of “chick flicks,” “lifetime movies” and media which target women precisely because they target women (an not men). In addition, you argue that Adele essentializes men as uncommunicative, however, you reinforce the stereotype of the needy, clingy, psychotic woman. Again, you don’t have to like Adele’s music or the messages in her music, and you can very well analyze the gender politics of her music. It is simply shortsighted to criticize her music because it is girly stuff that girls like.

Ok, so I am not the only one who is confused as to why this cd is so hyped.
I just don’t get it, it all sounds boring but look at the competition..Rihanna, Katy Perry etc they make Adele look like a goddess, hence the fact this cd has become so popular. A cd where someone actually sings is very unheard of these days and gets praised like no other because lets fact it, even though its not that good, it is unique in comparison.
The problem is that we have forgotten what good music truly is
