Must See: Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Fest Returns To MSG, April 2013

"Crossroads" is not just the name of Robert Johnsons blues masterpiece covered perpetually by ever blues player on earth, including Clapton who played it with Cream, Derek And The Dominos and solo of course. It is also the name of the rehab center Clapton opened in Antigua in 1998 to help recovering.

And, finally, it is the name of the Guitar festival Clapton with some of the greatest guitarists in the world, playing sideman will be performing on April 12th and 13th, 2013 at Madison Square Garden.

I have often mentioned that I am not a blues fan, and compated to love of dance or rock or country, I am not a blues fan. But compared to my love of most otherthings on earth, I am a pretty big fan and I will be going to Friday, April 12ths gig, and I will enpy the opportunity to see Clapton again, and I would even if it was solo. But here is the two day line up, tell me what you think:

Allan Holdsworth
Allman Brothers Band
Andy Fairweather Low
BB King
Blake Mills
Booker T
Brad Paisley
Buddy Guy
Citizen Cope
Dave Biller
Doyle Bramhall II
Earl Klugh
Eric Clapton
Gary Clark Jr.
Jeff Beck
Jimmie Vaughan
John Mayer
John Scofield
Jonny Lang
Keb Mo
Keith Urban
Kurt Rosenwinkle
Los Lobos
Quinn Sullivan
Robbie Robertson
Robert Cray
Robert Randolph
Sonny Landreth
Taj Mahal
Vince Gill

Nobody here I don't want to see but… Jimmie Vaugh and Gary Clark Jr… BB King might shake off the years. And congratulations to Brad Pitt who is an excellent guitarist and must be thrilled as hell by Clapton's seal of approval.
