The Closing Ceremonies: So Long Summer Olympics
The Closing Ceremonies: So Long Summer Olympics

There was a heap of hooplah about the Olympics.  Oh how I hated hearing chants of "USA USA USA" every morning on my local news.  Why do we cheer athletes and show Ameripride?  I suppose its a nice way to make you forget that you cant retire and that putting gas in your car requires a co-signor.

The opening ceremonies left me with a 'WTF' expression that has yet to leave my face. What the hell was that?  But two weeks later I vowed to watch the closing ceremonies.  They celebrate the end and it was Brit Pop, what more could I want?

Heres the truth- I tried.  But watching a zillion people in idiotic track suits march into a collesium cell phones in hand was more than I could stomach.  Biting medals, kissing medals, hopping on your team mates back… it was watching a party I wasnt invited too.  I lost my patience.  Im wont lie. I didnt see one damn performance cuz I simply couldnt make it past the bullshit.  Let alone the NBC commentators. Wait, did I fail to mention that I even tried to stream it and couldnt take all the adverising?  It wasnt worth my time.

Those hotshots over at Brooklyn Vegan it was worth there time apparently:  They did it and i am totally proud of them for it.  Plus as a Vegan I admire their site name.  So here is what they reported

Spice Girls reuinon where Posh, Sporty and the rest of them mostly rode around the track in separate Bentleys; Beady Eye doing "Wonderwall" (Noel must've loved that); Annie Lennox doing "Little Bird"; Eric Idle singing Life of Brian's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"; Russell Brand singing "Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and "I Am the Walrus"; current popstars One Direction and Jessie J, the latter of whom also sang "We Will Rock You" with Queen; Fatboy Slim in a giant inflatable octopus; Pet Shop Boys doing "West End Girls," Madness hoarsely performing "Our House"; and Ed Sheeran with Pink Floyd's Nick Mason and Genesis' Mike Rutherford for "Wish You Were Here."
The highlight, at least with the crowd I watched it with, was George Michael in his first live performance after a life-threatening bout with pneumonia last year

Guess what, I dont think they watched it either.  Theres no opinon its facts.  Who watched the closing ceremonies?   It doesnt matter now- its over. Hurray!
