According to someone (the LA Times is even saying this mysterious person was not authorized to talk about it publicly) the movie will be ‘a mix of music and personal study, blending concert footage with confessional interview’. 

Let’s see, we will see her beginning, her solo career, her split from her father, her marriage with Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter’s birth? Boring! We already know all this, she and her career have been overexposed and there is no way this autobiopic could bring anything we haven’t been already told to.

Justin Bieber and Katy Perry have done something similar recently, but this doesn’t make the thing less self-indulgent! I know painters draw auto-portraits and writers write autobiographies, but there is something more narcissistic about the whole thing when a film is involved. Beyonce can play, she is reportedly starring in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming movie ‘A Star Is Born’, but an autobiopic is not fiction,… unless she manages to make us believe she is the greatest star of all times.
