Noel Gallagher Will Never Retire: Dear Lord, What Have We Done To Deserve It!

Noel Gallagher's problems are as follows:

1. He can't sing his own songs

2. He can't perform his own songs.

3. And the last great album he put his name to was Be Here Now.

Which leaves him in the unfortunate position of having to explain an all too typically stupid comment to English tab The Sun: "Evidently the Rolling Stones are not a gang any more, it’s easier for a solo artist, so I don’t see a time when I’ll retire. I never see a time when I'll pack in, especially if I'm still writing.Norl's

"What else am I going to do? There's only so much TV you can watch."

Noel's High Flying Birds album, though garnering some of the best reviews of his career, isn't up to much and while it charted and beat out little brother Liam in the UK, it did doodly here. And didn't deserve to. It is just a tuneless, over written piece of dross

Now that doesn't mean Noel can't have a long and lustrous career (at least in the UK), the Stones haven't written a great album since the late 1970s, it means he can't do it without reforming Oasis. He needs Liam to sing his classics because, like I said, he can't really do it himself. I saw Noel perform a solo acoustic gig at the Beastie Boys Tibetan charity gig at Randall's Island and he sucked at it.

Look at it this way, if Noel said he wanted the Moody Blues career? Maybe. But he can't sell out two nights at the Beacon, imagine two nights at Giants Stadium?
