Frank Ocean Joined On Stage By Earl Sweatshirt On Tuesday In Los Angeles

On Tuesday night, Frank Ocean played the Wiltern in Los Angeles,… I didn’t go, I just heard that people were selling tickets on Craiglist for astronomical prices, and that lines were one mile-long. The reviews were very positive, and the LA Weekly said that ‘Ocean proved himself to have more than talent, but a unique vision and a knack for candor’…

It was his first show in Los Angeles since the release of ‘Channel Orange’, and strangely he opened his performance with a cover of Prince’s ‘When You Were Mine’; usually, when artists choose to cover someone else’s song, it is mid-set!

But Frank justified his choice with the clear affirmation, ‘That's one of my favorite songs, I like to start with my favorite song… What the fuck is up Los Angeles?’

Also, Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt joining him on stage for ‘Super Rich Kids’ was the other big surprise of the night, although it happened for only a short minute, at the end of the song; but this is how the LA Times described the scene:

‘In his first ever Los Angeles onstage performance, Sweatshirt waltzed on nonchalantly during ‘Super Rich Kids’, tossed off his intricate, percussive rhyme involving entitled bluebloods stiffing friends by ‘purchasing crappy grams with half the hand of cash you handed’, gave Ocean a back-pat and disappeared just as quickly. That brief moment also felt important.’

You can watch videos of both songs below
