I was sorry to hear of the passing of first rate Welsh character actor Victor Spanetti from cancer at the age of 82.

Among his many appearances, Spametti appeared in (according to contactnews.com)  "Dylan Thomas' 'Under Milk Wood' alongside Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Zeffirelli's 'The Taming of the Shrew', 'Voyage of the Damned', 'The Return of the Pink Panther', and 'The Krays'. Stage roles meanwhile included West End appearances in 'Expresso Bongo', 'Candide', 'Cat Among the Pigeons', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.'

But we remember Victor best  for his roles in "Magical Mystery Tour", "Help!" and best of all the prissy Television director in the woollen cardigan in "A Hard day's Night".as Lennon might put it: give us a kiss…
