The Who:”Quadrophenia: Can You See the Real Me?” In US Theaters

The story of this legendary album will come to life in documentary film form on July 26.  With the obligatory 'never before seen footage' that includes the collapse of Keith Moon (is that a bit tacky or what?) and live concert coverage.

Musical performances from Quadrophenia include, "Love Reign O'er Me". In a  review by , Rolling Stone's David Fricke : 'Quadrophenia, released in 1973, was a superior tale with more-taut songwriting; it was grounded in [Pete] Townshend's memories of growing up angry, anguished and mod in the early Sixties, and produced with the panoramic tension "

I know we all just plain adore Rolling Stone but what the hell is that quote?  Although RS gave the album a 4.5 out of 5 rating, I can't help but think that Fricke has yet to see the film (Editor's Note: I saw Fricke at the Steve Wynn gig earlier this year and he looked like Keith Richards)

Considering this is a one day event the promoters of this event mustn't think it a big hit either- but it is a huge opportunity for merch selling profit!   Go to the film and you get the honor of opportunity to purchase Quadrophenia: Director's Cut box set with a free t-shirt at a special price of $99.98. The box features four CDs including two discs of original Pete Townshend demos, 5.1 audio DVD, a hardback book, 7' replica and much more.  The funny thing is they list this $99.98 cost for a 'limited time', that's because you will be able to get it on eBay for $30.00 in no time.
