Rock Of Ages and No Skid Row
Rock Of Ages and No Skid Row

Did anyone really believe that the film Rock of Ages wouldn't bomb?  It was a sure thing so much so that it could have been a well planned tax shelter intended to be a financial failure.

When you put Tom Cruise (who is a freakin weirdo ever since that Oprah bit) and 80's heart throb and remove his shirt and add a wig how could it succeed?  The casting straight up was wrong- so wrong, like WTF wrong.  But luckily this will be a Netflix freebie in no time and we can get on with our lives.  Ever see that movie 'Rockstar' with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston?  That wasn't so bad, wasn't great but as far as bad metal movies go- I laughed.

This is actually about Skid Row- yes Sebastian Bachs band.  Now there is no rocket science in this one but apparently they were approached for use of their song "I Remember You" and flat out turned it down.  Now when a has been band turns down the opportunity for some major motion picture air time- ya darn gotta know it sucks!!

Its the fucked up quote that makes it all the more odd

Former frontman Sebastian Bach tells Sonic Shocks, "The fact is Snake [Dave Sabo, Skid Row guitarist] and Rachel [Bolan, Skid Row bassist], who have co-writing credits for 'I Remember You', refused to allow it to be in the movie," explains Bach. "[The producers of 'Rock Of Ages'] wanted 'I Remember You' [to be] in the play and the movie, but Snake and Rachel don't like money. [Laughs] They have an aversion to cash. They'd rather not have cash. I don't know why — you can interview them about that — but that is the truth of the matter. The play wanted the [song] and they [Skid Row members] didn't want it in the movie — because money is bad."

Which simply proves one thing.. 80's hair metal should have stayed in the 80's
