1. Honeycomb – Animal Collective – Aha, here is the pop move we were expecting from the experimental band that heralded Brooklyn as the New Renaissance city. An entirely addictive piece of weirdness with speedy vocals and cowbells and lyric that seem as precise a metaphor as bees could ever hope for – Grade: A

2. Thrash Unreal – Against Me! – The problem with Against Me! is that they think they're punk but they are really power pop – Grade: B+

3. Cat Scratch Fever – Ted Nugent – His best lick ever is only three notes, and his best riff just reverses direction – Grade:A

4. Spinning Around In The Air – The Proclaimers – Tongue in cheek, piano based what I wouldn't do for you. Please proclamation: "If I could sing I would sing you a song in Sam Cooke's voice – Grade: B+

5. Cyrk – Cate Le Bon – A disjointed waltz – Grade: A

6. Welcome To The Ball – Rufus Wainwright – Best song on the album is a thrilling bi-polar waltz – Grade: A

7. Sharing The Night Together – Dr. Hook – Used to hysterical effect by a snuggle hungry Peter Griffith – Grade: B+

8. We'll Live And Die In These Towns – The Enemy UK – They claim they got fucked by the production, but it sounds pretty excellent to me even if all these Limey rock bands can sound the same. This sounds like Paul Weller but slower- Grade: B+

9.London's Burning – Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly – Computer generated emo – Grade: A-

10. She Sells Sanctuary – The Cult – And all Yank rock bands sound the same in different ways – Grade: B
