Skrillex’s Collaboration With Damian Marley, ‘Make It Bum Dem’

What happens when you mix reggae with dubstep? I would say mostly reggae, with an occasional electronic parasite providing some distortion, but it actually makes dubstep less irritating than usual, as the result is better than I could have imagined.

Skrillex has collaborated with Damian Marley for a track called ‘Make it Bum Dem’, which was previously available as a demo as 'Rudeboy Bass’, and the track was recently posted on Soundcloud.

There is a satisfying balance between the coolness of the reggae tempo, its warrior-tone vocals and the aggressiveness-to-your-ears of whatever produces this high-pitch electro-shocks screeching and jolting along the track.

Ok, listen to the song, these two genres crash into each other making a huge sound, but I still can’t stand Skrillex.
