Sleigh Bells’ Derek Miller and Paul Thomas Anderson
Sleigh Bells’ Derek Miller and Paul Thomas Anderson

Remember when Sleigh Bells were on SNL a few weeks ago? Maya Rudolph was hosting the show, and she is Mrs. Paul Thomas Anderson as some of you may know. The following was posted on PTA’s website, referencing a Pitchfork post, as they were talking to Derek Miller about Sleigh Bells’ performance on SNL; this is what the guitarist had to say:

‘On television, you have to compromise all your production values and it's impossible to sound good’

But later Miller got to meet SNL host, Maya Rudolph and even slip him a personalized mixtape. He explained why:

‘That's just my way of saying hi to someone. What was on the tape? Just a bunch of crazy shit I've been listening to: a bunch of Lil B, some Burzum. I haven't heard back from him about it yet.’

He said ‘him’, so the mixtape was obviously for PTA and now everyone is insinuating that some of these songs could appear on the soundtrack of the director’s next movie, 'The Master.' Hopefully PTA will use some Sleigh Bells’ songs instead, between a few Jonny Greenwood's tracks!
