Representing the English glam hard rock which would morph Stateside into hair metal, UK band the Darkness return to Irving Plaza on Monday. Expect lots of recycled riffing and some killer melodies Foxy Shazzam opening.

Tuesday – Ruben Stoddard – Feinstein's – I can not believe the original American Idol got this gig! More power to him.

Wednesday – George Cinton And The Parliament-Funkadelic All Stars – BB Kinf's – Never before has a band named been the review, and never after.

Thursday – Theophilius London – Irving Plaza – The sound of modern soul.

Friday – Barry Manilow – Radio City Music Hall – In the 1970s, one of my friends was a drug pushing pimp who looked just like Barry Manilow.

Saturday – The Queers – Santos Playhouse – I got em at Mercury Lounge a year ago and was very ompressed by this old time punk rock band.

Saturday – Don Giovanni Records – And I would be there but I will be here watching the return of FOR SCIENCE!!!
