Pennybirdrabbit-A Lovely Voice Emerging: “All I Ask OfYou” Skrillex feat. Penny
I am in love with the voice that is pennybirdrabbit. I don’t even remember how I came across this wonderful soul, I just know I did and I’m glad. I’m really excited and when I am excited about music I will talk about it for ages and tell everyone I know.
Most will probably recognize this feisty-looking chick as the strong yet delicate voice in the electro-pop Skrillex track “All I Ask OfYou.” I’ve literally had this track on repeat all day since I purchased it offof beatport.com a few days ago, and Penny’s (I almost wrote Pennies) voice not once bored me or irked me and forced me to yell “shut up” at the screen and turn it off. Penny has one of those voices that you can fall asleep too and have the sweetest, castle-in-the-sky-like dreams like Imogen Heap. Penny resides in Los Angeles, California, is under Slush Management and is currently working on her first record.
On top of having a beautiful face that you will, in fact,remember very easily, she has a voice so simple and lovely it will leave you wanting more. But, what’s the reason behind her name? Well, Penny claims to be a“bird rabbit.” This makes me think she is a person who is free-spirited and passionate about what she loves.
To me, I think Penny is going to bring back my faith in house music that is worth listening to. She will probably mold and bend the electro/house/pop genres into something that will be bigger and better and alot more different than we’re used to hearing.
She’s playing with Electro-house dubstep producer PorterRobinson on The Spit Fire tourDecember 3rd, 2011 beside Mat Zo, The M Machine, and BONES in Hollywood, California.
Gah, I love her and I can’t wait to hear what else she has in store in the future! I am certainly looking forward to her first album.
