Thank you for your long input Lisa!
I agree with you on many points. Robin Peringer was around before Elliott died, he played with him a few shows in 2003, and he became J. Chiba's roommate for a while after Elliott's death. He is a weird character.

It was indeed important to learn these cuts were fresh and absolutely not due to self cutting. There is so much ignorance about the case, and too many people are fooled by Chiba's claims that they can be explained because of self-cutting.

Again thanks for reading and writing. I am not sure we will ever know what happened, but I will try looking for the truth

Hi Alyson, thanks for asking these questions and doing this for us. I just read your other article too from his death date last year. That thing about the cuts under his right arm has been really bugging me and I'm glad you got it confirmed that they were fresh cuts, NOT old 'self-mutilation' cuts. I don't know if Jennifer actually physically stabbed him, but something about her really bugs me. Whatever it is, she was definitely not someone who was good enough for Elliott, the way she describes him as "mentally ill", that she "took care of him for a year." I don't know, man. Plus, she's a therapist and I don't trust a lot of therapists and her tone is really condescending. I'm glad to hear that you've heard from inside sources that Elliott was planning on leaving her. That is really relieving.
It's absolutely crazy the amount of bullshit that is out there. How can so many crazy things be said about the same person and little incidents? Like the jumping off the cliff thing, I saw that you found an account that he was drunk and running with friends. That makes a lot more sense to me, I was wondering if maybe he had been high or something and just thought, what if I jump off a cliff.
The way Jennifer talks about him, about the blood in his bed, and blah blah blah, it's just way over melodramatic. And who is this Peringer guy? He sounds like a bit of a dickhead, the things he said about Elliott, completely disrespectful and why is she hanging out with him immediately after his death? They don't sound like good people to me and they didn't know or see Elliott at all.
Elliott was a good guy. Stories get exploded and exploited and run through a cookie cutter, I guess that's just what the press does with a "rock star," oblivious to the person underneath. Whatever it is, I know you have to read between the lines and I know Elliott was a much more complex, ethereal, and beautiful person. I'm not saying Elliott didn't go through darkness and pain, but this is not what he would do, he was a living and breathing person and honest.
So I'm glad you're asking these questions and are passionate and brave about knowing the truth about Elliott.
