The Elliott Smith Mystery: More Questions by Alyson Camus
The Elliott Smith Mystery: More Questions by Alyson Camus

We know Elliott Smith and Jennifer Chiba were fighting, screaming, slamming doors, and according to several people it was far from being the first time. At one point one of them picked up the knife.

Did Elliott pick up the knife? Or did Chiba pick up the knife?
Chiba said she was in the bathroom, but a neighbor saw her storming out of the house briefly after a loud screaming match. So was she locked in the bathroom or not?
There was blood throughout the house according to Robin, so was Elliott running with the knife in his chest?
Chiba pulled out the knife. According to the autopsy report, one of the wound (2nd one) was 5-7 inch deep, so you have to realize it was not an easy thing to do. If she knew CPR (as her work as an  art therapist may have possibly required) she should have known that leaving the knife would have prevented further bleeding. I read somewhere that knives are rarely left in the body after a stabbing. Why did she decide to remove the knife?
Then she called 911, but how long did she wait to do so? Did she call someone else before as she was panicking?
When talking to the police, she pointed out a post-it note that was interpreted as a suicide note. The note said: “I’m so sorry — love, Elliott God forgive me.” She said it was Elliott’s handwriting. But was it really a suicide note? How did Elliott manage to write a suicide note in the middle of a violent fight? And was it really his handwriting?
The knife, among other things, was taken by the police. Whose fingerprints were on the knife? Hers, because she removed the knife, but were Elliott’s fingerprints on it too? And if they were, what were the position of his fingerprints? Was the police even able to identify any fingerprints on the knife?
At the end why did he choose this painful form of suicide? He had tried before but each time, it was a more passive way of committing suicide like taking a lot of drugs, drinking a lot of alcohol, or even running to the edge of a cliff to see what would happen.
Why didn’t he remove his shirt to stab himself as the large majority of people who stab themselves do?
Why didn’t he have hesitation wounds as the large majority of people who stab themselves have?
And why did he have a fresh wound under his right arm and another one on his left palm?
