Want to feel all Manchester 24 hour Party People without leaving the comfort of the frozen Northeastern US?

Give these kids a ride
Brooklyns, A Place To Bury Strangers, has a band name that makes a huge t-shirt but a sound that takes me all Joy Division-ishy Gang of Four. Try “In Your Heart”, the drumming is outstanding. Fast and full of cymbals. The bass climbs up and down my spine like a shiver. Dark and industrial I think I’m in love.

Touring in spring I wonder if they carry on like party people. From what Ive read they do a light show…….a light show….When the hell is the last time you saw a club gig with a light show anyway? Anyway they got mention for doing a cover of Suffragette City on a Bowie trib album but they totally TOTALLY deserve their own post…

I tried ‘Ego Death” on their myspace and totally dig um.

no really I do.. they’re dark and smokey… nice!
