And todays big music story is GRUNGE!!!
Yep, everything old is indeed new again and after Pearl Jam’s suces estime and after Nirvana’s Live DVD and remaster of Bleach and after, er, Creed get props from Slate, there is even a book of grunge pics from back in the day.
At my age it feels like instant nostalgia but it has actually been fifteen years and counting since Seattle burst onto the scene and blogging was just a sparkle in Al Gore’s eyes…
I have never felt that the grunge scene was particularly important, it was, however, particularly good. Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Fastball, -all those cats were high intensity low/loud/low masters and a fine time was had by all.
Actually, LLL is such a natural form of the rock idiom, it has part of the language today. So, grunge won’t go away and we can’t miss it.
